STEM and Computers

Blessed Sacrament offers a dynamic, hands-on STEM program for students in all grade levels. Through our program, students not only increase their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics; they also expand their opportunities for careers in the fastest growing job fields.

Students are exposed to emerging technologies such as 3D printing, nanotechnology, and drones through hands-on projects. Each year, students in fifth through eighth grades participate in the school’s Science Olympiad, a full day of fun and challenging activities that put students’ STEM skills to the test.

Computer Science and Coding

Computer science and coding is part of our core curriculum at Blessed Sacrament for students in fifth through eighth grades. Computer science teaches students to develop logical thinking skills, creativity, and problem solve using computers. Studies show that the earlier we introduce students to coding, the more comfortable and better prepared they will be to use technology for more challenging learning opportunities in the future.

Science and Environmental Studies

Blessed Sacrament students are part of a unique partnership with Signal Hill School District, Heartlands Conservancy and other organizations to remake Peterson’s Pond, a wetland area a few blocks from Blessed Sacrament School. Now newly completed, the area includes a pollinator garden and outdoor science classroom, offering opportunities for all grades to have hands-on experience exploring our native wetlands.
